When she approaches the notoriously surly resort manager, Valentina, about filling the vacancy, something tells us that she has taken a horribly wrong turn and unwittingly wandered into a precarious position. When Mia uses Valentina's homosexuality as a tool to get the gig, you can tell that the tightly wound manager feels emotionally violated and exposed.
